HVAC Repair & Service in Mountain Brook, AL

Mountain Brook homes often come with character that newer construction doesn’t: additions, converted spaces, and HVAC systems that have been updated in pieces over the years. Prantl Heating | Cooling has spent more than 50 years working with exactly this kind of home across the Greater Birmingham area. Our office is in Hueytown, about 25-30 minutes from Mountain Brook depending on traffic.

Cooling season is where this shows up most. Many Mountain Brook homes have original hardwood floors, plaster walls, or architectural details that homeowners don’t want disturbed by running new ductwork – which rules out a traditional central AC retrofit for a lot of additions and converted spaces. It also means uneven cooling is common: the main house stays comfortable while a sunroom, converted attic, or bonus room lags behind because it was never really part of the original system’s design.

A room addition, converted attic, or sunroom without ductwork is a common request in Mountain Brook, and it’s one of the best use cases for a ductless system. As a Mitsubishi Electric dealer, we install ductless mini-split systems that heat and cool individual spaces without tearing into existing walls or ductwork – no exposed ductwork, no cutting into plaster, no disrupting the parts of the home that make it a Mountain Brook home in the first place. For homes where the central system itself is aging out, our technicians will also walk you through straightforward AC installation options sized to fit the home’s actual layout, not a one-size-fits-all replacement.
